J.R. Bale

Mally Becker combines her love of history and crime fiction in mysteries that feature strong, independent heroines. She is the 2022 Agatha Award-nominated author of The Turncoat’s Widow, which Kirkus Reviews called, “A compelling tale … with charming main characters.” Her historical mystery has also been named a Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Finalist and Mystery & Mayhem finalist in the Chanticleer International Book Awards.

Michelle Cameron’s most recent novel, Beyond the Ghetto Gates, was a Silver Medal winner in Historical Fiction by the Independent Book Publishers. Her previous historical, The Fruit of Her Hands, is based on the author’s 13th-century ancestor, Meir ben Baruch of Rothenberg. Michelle’s novel-in-verse, In the Shadow of the Globe, named Shakespeare Theatre of NJ’s 2003-4 Winter Book Selection, was performed in several locales, including the Stella Adler Studio’s Shakespeare Benefit. Novels forthcoming in 2023 and 2024, respectively, include Babylon and Napoleon’s Mirage, a sequel to Beyond the Ghetto Gates.

A director of The Writers Circle, Michelle teaches creative writing to children, teens, and adults in NJ and virtually.

She started as a teacher and ended as a district administrator. 2022 Finalist Canadian Book Club Award, 2020 Sarton Award Finalist Historical Fiction, 2020 Pulpwood Queens Book Club pick, 2019 Best Book Awards Finalist in Fiction (Multicultural), Eileen is active as a presenter and has led author panels and workshops for readers, teachers, parents and librarians.
